Contact Music has some great Dan's quotes about flies, and smoking in the movie December Boys.

"The flies were incredible. A scene had to be cut because of the amount of flies on the camera and on the actors and on the crew. It was just unbelievable. "And I don't particularly like smoking, but it was in the script. It's one of those things. "I smoked in (London stage play) Equus too and I had to smoke in (new film) My Poor Jack. Whatever the script says the character does, I do, whether I like it or not."

In another interview in Fuse (the best one so far) he gave us an inside about what kind of cigarettes he used while filming this movie, I will post the Fuse video in a bit....

Dan in Broadway?

Today Daniel talked to MTV about December Boys, Harry Potter and his future projects, in it he talked about the possibility of having Equus in Broadway for 2008.

“There’s an internet frenzy of people who think it’s happening in the spring, but it would be six months later than that,” he said. “In all probability, if everything goes according to plan, it would definitely be me and Richard Griffiths and how many other cast members the unions will allow.” (Griffiths, who co-starred with Radcliffe in the play’s West End run, also plays Uncle Vernon in the Harry Potter movies). “I’m excited. Terrified, but excited.”

Here is a small video of Dan talking about his sex scenes in Equus and December Boys: Dan on MTV

My Boy Jack Among Best Art Events

The Times Online has an article about the "100 best autumn arts events" - from the best British film in years, Atonement, to Tutankhamun, theater, concerts, tv movies; My Boy Jack made it to this list:

#87 My Boy Jack, ITV1, mid-Nov Daniel Radcliffe, in his first role for television, plays Rudyard Kipling’s son Jack, killed in the trenches aged 17. Radcliffe has just turned 18.

My Boy Jack Makes Daily Telegraph's Critics List

"My Boy Jack
After years of pubescent hocus-pocus, Daniel Radcliffe has come of age.

Theatregoers won over by his manly abs in Equus will be similarly impressed by the moustache he's conjured up to play Rudyard Kipling's son Jack, sent aged 18 to fight and die on the Western Front, in David Haig's TV version of his own 1997 stage play." AP

Daniel Radcliffe Won Talented Young Person Award

YEAH!!! Jenna from dr.com has received an e-mail from the owner of that site, Adam, letting her know tha Daniel won for the month of August.

"We here at Talented Young People couldn’t have hoped for a more worthy winner of the inaugural award. Daniel, through his acting on the Harry Potter series of the films, has inspired so many young people across the globe, and at such a young age, has handled the overwhelming attention, fame and notoriety with maturity beyond his years, in turn, being a great role model for young people across the globe."

Daniel received 47.33% of the total vote, with his nearest rival Rupert Grint, scoring 30.23% of the vote. There were over 19,000 people who voted.

Congrats Dan!!!

December Boys Among Fall Compelling Dramas and More...

MSNBC has December Boys on their list of Compelling Dramas for this Fall.

George Clooney gets serious; Daniel Radcliffe leaves Potter behind

Whether they’re Oscar bait or not, dramas rule the early fall season. Actors like George Clooney get to put “Ocean’s” on the shelf for a bit and do some real acting. Even “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe gets a chance to build his post-Potter legacy.
...

About this non-“Harry Potter” role, Radcliffe told the Herald Sun, “It does feel like a big deal and I am nervous about how it’s going to be received, and I’m nervous about what people are going to say.”
