Who's in Charge Here Anyway?

I'm all about spoiling our pets.
However, it's gotten out of control.
Big changes are taking place today.
And NO ONE is happy.
It started with this one.
Her Royal Highness, Miss Gizaboo, Princess of the Royal Litter box.
aka Gizzy.
This is NOT my cat.
She will have nothing to do with me.
She only likes my husband.
Whatever!
Anyway, night before last she woke me up making these horrible deep moaning sounds.
Yes, she hit puberty and was feeling much alone and deprived in a house full of female animals.
We've been meaning to get her in to the vet for her "lady" appointment but it seems we waited too long.
She is strictly an indoor cat and has been content with that so far.
Not so much today.
She's wanting to slip out the doggie door and find a suitor.
A bit of whoring about, if you may.
For obvious reasons, we can't have that.
Which means that the lock goes on the doggie door.
Which now brings us to this one.
Lil Shit Blevins
aka Poochie
Who is a tad spoiled herself.
This is my dog.
I'm her favorite people.
She keeps forgetting the doggie door is locked and bangs her head into it.
And she's fat.
Seriously fat.
But I think it's hereditary, I'm fat too.
So, in addition to having her potty times arranged according to my schedule, she is also now on a diet.
She is no longer free feeding from an everlasting bowl of munchies in the corner of the kitchen.
She is being fed twice a day, on a schedule.
She just stands in the kitchen and stares at the place where her bowl used to be.
Which is right next to where the cat food bowl has been.
The dog will eat cat food.
She'll eat the poop from the litter box if she thinks she's being starved.
You're welcome.
So, now we have this one.

Miss Choo Choo Gillespie Blevins
aka Chooch
aka "not Hank"
She is an inside/outside cat.
She has always used the doggie door.
And now she can't.
And she is peeved.
This is the one responsible for The Great Easter Debacle of 2011.
With the weather warming up, the baby quail are hatching....and we don't need the babies in the house again this year.
So as of today, she is an indoor cat.
And her food dish has been moved from the kitchen to the laundry room so the dog won't eat it.
We are also refusing to turn on the tap in the bathroom for her so she can have fresh running water.
She will now be drinking out of the bowl.
Like a cat.
Everyone living here is greatly confused and stressed out.
Gizzy moans and rubs against anything that will stand still.
Lil Shit stares at the wall in the kitchen and whimpers.
Chooch is being very vocal and repeatedly claws at the window to the back yard and lays upside down in the bathroom sink.
And I'm taking up drinking.

Can We Talk Crotches?

I meant to say Couches.

But that wouldn't have been nearly as interesting.

My dilemma:

Our couch and love seat have seen better days.  They are worn, and dirty, and ugly.  It's time for a replacement.  My husband wants something comfortable and reclining.  I want traditional and pretty.  I'm trying to find something we both like at a price that won't kill us.

The reason they are so dirty?  Well, I'm sure I have no idea:

My husband wants one of these:

I don't.  I'm not into the over-stuffed puffy arm thing.  I do, however, love to sit on these when I go to other peoples homes because they are super comfy.

I like this reclining couch:

It's much more traditional but my husband doesn't like the small arms.  (I have no idea when he decided he was allowed a say in the purchase of home decor and furnishings but in the case of the couch, he is undeterred by my pouting).  I'm having a problem with the $1600 price tag for this one.

I could use some advice about fabric also.  We have a big naughty, dirty dog that will never learn to stay off the couch so don't even suggest it.  We have two cats.  (We actually have three but two sounds so much less crazy cat lady-ish).  Tell me about pet hair.  Tell me about what you use to remove it.  Tell me about the best fabric choices.  Tell me you're going to buy me a couch.   Tell me I'm beautiful and skinny.

Love Ya'll

What are you Looking at?

Also, did you know that if you go to Google maps and click on "get directions" and type in from USA to Japan, it tells you to take a kayak over the Pacific?  Well, now you do.

SUNDAY...FUNDAY!

Good Morning Sunday!

First and foremost, please allow me to apologize for showing you my crazy obsessive side yesterday in this post while I kind of went over the edge with the raisins.  It was not pretty so I appreciate the fact that you came back at all.

Moving on....

We're feeling pretty lazy around here this morning.

I'm in desperate need of a manicure so I may do that.  When did my hands start looking like this?

I cooked a big pot of chili yesterday so it's leftovers today.  Possibly chili dogs if I get really adventurous.

See anything weird in this picture?

No?  Look closer.

Right there in the back corner.  Still don't see it?  OK, a little closer.

Seriously, you don't see it?  Can you hear it?  OK, I'm taking my life in my hands for you.

It may not look like much but there are hundreds of bees around and under our shed.  We have had a problem with them for the past year.  We call pest control, they get rid of them and then 3 months later they come back.  We were told by the company that they are Africanized.

I got a chance to organize my craft closet the other day.  It was ugly.
BEFORE

AFTER

And last but certainly not least, I got to babysit chickens the other day.  My girlfriend just bought two week old chickens and asked me to check in on them while she was at work.  Their names are Laverne and Shirley and for now they are living in her kitchen.  What???  You don't have chickens in your kitchen?

I think I'll leave you with that.

It's okay...right? RIGHT??!!!

I talk to myself.  There, I said it.  Lately, I've noticed that when I'm in the car alone I talk a lot!  So yesterday while I was out driving around looking for garage sales I decided that I wasn't going to talk at all.  (singing so doesn't count).  About a block later I heard myself say "Whoa!  What the heck are you wearing Lady?!". I fell off the "shut up" wagon and just had to start over.  About ten minutes later I heard myself say, "I hate this song."  but that really didn't count because I had been singing and it just kinda blended in.  Just before I got home, the voice was back.  "Hey there Puppy Wuppy!  Where's your Momma?".  Well, see I was concerned that a dog was alone on the street so really I was just showing my compassionate nature so that really didn't count either.

Is it wrong that I let my dog sleep on my husband's pillow?  I usually end up in bed about an hour before my husband does and watch some TV with my dog.  It’s our cuddle time.  She climbs up on the bed and gives me that sad face until I pull his pillow down and let her put her head on it.  When I hear him turning off the lights and coming down the hall, I pull the pillow out from under her head, move it back where it belongs and kick her off the bed.
That's okay, right?

All dressed up!

I found the cutest little shop on Etsy that I wanted to share with you.  Two of my pets were in need of new collars and I wanted something a little different.  Nikki over at Coley's Collars made these adorable matching collars for them.  She did a great job and the quality is excellent.  Take a minute to check out her shop by clicking here Nikki's shop .

Couldn't be Cuter!!!!

You know you've done it.  Don't tell me you haven't.

We were at a friends house the other night playing cards and they told us about a stray cat that had a kitten in their back yard.  Well, you know the rest of the story.  She is making herself at home now (along with my other two cats and my dog).  Just what we needed, but come on, would you just look at that face?

We haven't named her yet.  Any ideas?

We were thinking:

Keeper

Juneau (from our honeymoon)

Ellie Mae

Dammit (my husbands choice)

Bella

Skootch

What do you think?

UPDATE 9/26/2010

Well, Brian named her Gizmo but I say her name is Miss Gizaboo, Princess of the Royal Litterbox.  Been calling her Gizaboo or Gizee.

Live out Loud!!

And the race is on.........

Ok, so I'm sitting out on the patio having my coffee and wondering what I'll do today.  Then I step inside and it becomes terribly clear.  Now, if your looking for a blog of the perfect home...stop here, get out, hurry before I put you to work!  Where to start?

Maybe I should start with mopping the floor.
This is "Lil Sh*t".  DO NOT blame me.
My sweet, silly, red-neck husband named her.

Or I could make the bed:

Easier said than done.  That would be Choo-Choo.
If I kick her off the bed she ignores me all day.

Then there's always the laundry:

Or unloading the dishwasher:

Or taking out the trash and recycle:

I know you came here just to see how "real my life is".  Scary isn't it?

Ok, so I guess I'll get back to work.  No before or after pictures coming.  The after doesn't look much better than before sometimes.

One more thing, here is me trying to figure out what to blog about.  This one's for you Meme!

Have a great day everyone and remember...

Live Out Loud!
