Quotes About Dan

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix director David Yates talks about Dan:

"Dan as an actor is incredibly intuitive and emotional, and I mean that in a good way. I’d actually rather use the word sensitive instead of emotional, because he’s quite strategic about his empathy for people and things."

Will Kemp, who plays the horse Nugget in the current revival of Equus, has this to say about Dan:

"He is a remarkable young man. There's very little that can throw him: the mass hysteria, the publicity, the press, the constant hassle that is his life - he handles it brilliantly. He could easily have been this 17-year-old brat, but he's not at all, he's a real gentleman."

Emma Not Quitting the Potter Films

There has been lots of reports of Emma turning down a contract to film the last two Harry Potter movies, but today CBBS Newsround is reporting that Emma "is certain she will do the last two Potter movies, despite reports claiming she told film bosses she wanted to quit."

A spokesperson for Warner Bros., told Newsround "We're extremely confident that Emma will be back for films six and seven."

Emma, who plays Hermione in the films, is set to sign her new contract soon.

Emma Stalked in School

FINALLY we have some news about Emma, as you all know when I started this blog it was suppose to be a blog NEWS for Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson; news about Dan keep coming every day, but we haven't heard so much of Emma until now!

Take this as a rumor, but different media outlets are reporting that Emma has been assigned a bodyguard after a 20-year-old stalker sneaked into her school and tried to talk to her.

A source told www.hollywood.tv: "The man was an admirer who was over-zealous. He found out there were some open lectures at the school and attended them. He left Watson alarmed when he approached her and started talking to her about the 'Potter' films.

"The school was informed and so were Emma's parents. It was decided to call the police as the man was not known to her. A minder was also hired to be with her."

After apprehending and questioning the young man, the police let him off with a stern warning, telling him to stay away from Watson. The young man has apparently taken their heed, and no further incidents have been reported.

Emma is in her first year of A-Levels at an undisclosed school. Although she was a bit shaken, she said she and others who acted in the 'Harry Potter' films have tried hard to live normal lives and that she would not let this incident affect her.

Thea Sharrock Talks Daniel

Winner of the James Menzies-Kitchin Memorial Trust for Young Director of the Year Award in 2000, she explained how she has coped with the pressures of directing a high profile show, how she prepared Daniel Radcliffe for his demanding role and why she stands by the decision not to have an age bar - despite the nudity and swearing in the production.

"He is an absolute consummate actor in his own right... This is an enormous leap for any seventeen-year-old to do... He brings with him an extraordinary discipline and level of professionalism, and that was an absolute gift for me."

A Few More Bits About Daniel

Daniel made "Faces of the week" on BBC News

There's no doubt about it - the reviews of Daniel Radcliffe in the West End revival of Equus have been pretty good.

"He really can act" - enthused the Guardian critic - his performances as Harry Potter were "no flash in the magic pan." According to the Daily Mail, "a raw talent has come of age" while Charles Spencer, writing in the Daily Telegraph, described him as "thrilling".

Daniel made the list of "SuperHunks"

Dan looks just wand-erful!

LIKE a certain troubled teenage wizard battling against he who must not be named, we’ve fought against fancying Daniel Radcliffe.

Barely out of short trousers, the Harry Potter star’s decision to pose barely, minus any kind of trousers, seemed a bit off.

Then we saw these hotter-than-a-June-day-at-Hogwarts pics of him in character for his London stage debut in Equus and changed our minds.

Tickets for the show have long since sold out, but you can feast your eyes on a naked Dan in our saucy slideshow.

Here is a very interesting review of Daniel as Alan, this was conducted on GMTV, this video is more than 6 minutes long and in it the presenter and the critic discuss how good Daniel was on the opening night, and also what a nice body he has....

Broadway Battle For Daniel and He Is Back As Harry

Source PR-Inside

Eleven Broadway theatre bosses are battling to have British actor DANIEL RADCLIFFE bring his stage debut EQUUS to New York City.
However, Radcliffe's commitments to the next HARRY POTTER movie - THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE - mean he wouldn't be able to perform in the US until next autumn (08).

Producer DAVID PUGH says, "As of Thursday morning, there are 11 offers from different producers - the great and the good, and people I've never heard of.
"Both Daniel and Richard are up for it, and so is THEA (SHARROCK) our director. It's just a matter of sorting out which producer we'll go with to Broadway."

My opinion:
Dr.uk posted a few days ago that Daniel wasn't going to Broadway any time soon, yes we know he is going to be super busy this year BUT maybe there is a small chance that he might be doing this next year. If the Equus producer said Dan is up to it then I'm pretty sure he will wait till next year for any talks about coming to Broadway

And thanks to dr.uk, we can confirm that Daniel has signed on for the last two Harry Potter films. Dan will begin filming in September on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

A Few Bits About Dan and Equus

A great review of Equus done by none other than STEPHEN FRY (Contact Music UK )

FRY: 'RADCLIFFE'S PERFORMANCE IS MORE THAN NUDITY'

English actor/screenwriter STEPHEN FRY has urged London theatregoers to focus on DANIEL RADCLIFFE's acting and not his naked body when they watch him onstage in EQUUS.
The 17-year-old HARRY POTTER star has attracted headlines for his controversial role at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End.
But Fry wishes audiences would concentrate on Radcliffe delivering an "amazing performance".
He says, "It's not just about the nudity.
"Yes, of course some people are going to say there's Harry Potter naked, smoking, saying f**k and simulating an orgasm - but let's not let that detract from an amazing performance, which is what he delivered.
"He was marvellous. He's got guts, I will say that.
"

From Newsweek

Moving the Magic
‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe recasts himself—complete with nude scene—on the London stage. The critics are impressed.

On stage in London's West End and stripped of his cinematic magic (and for a while his clothes), Daniel Radcliffe of “Harry Potter” fame proves he’s no-one trick pony. Last night’s much-anticipated revival of Peter Shaffer’s “Equus” showed off a darker, more mature Radcliffe...

“Equus” is a clear and daring departure from Radcliffe’s interpretation of Harry Potter, the orphaned young wizard who fights the dark arts in J. K. Rowling’s blockbuster series. The teen actor we see on stage is provocative, intelligent, even controversial in the play's famous nude scene.

The high-profile cast, directed by the 30-year-old Thea Sharrock, does not eclipse the force of Schaffer’s script. Rather, the actors bring the playwright’s powerful social critique to life for a new generation of theatergoers...

The critics agreed, even if the headline writers couldn’t help drenching their reviews in “Harry Potter” references: BRILLIANT RADCLIFFE THROWS OFF HARRY POTTER'S CLOAK wrote the Daily Telegraph, while the Guardian enthused NO POTTER HORSEPLAY FROM RADCLIFFE, JUST FINE ACTING.

From Hello Magazine

Daniel is aiming to leave his child star image behind by playing troubled stable hand Alan Strang in the psychological thriller. And with theatre critics climbing over each other to heap praise on the young thesp, he seems to have proved his mettle as a serious dramatic actor.

Many of the UK's most celebrated stars of stage and screen had gone along to the Gielgud Theatre for Wednesday night's performance. British favourites like Samantha Morton, Helena Bonham-Carter and Cilla Black were joined by Tinseltown heart-throb Christian Slater and chat show host Graham Norton for the hotly anticipated event.

From the The Sun

A funny quote by none other than Oscar nominee Helena Bonham Carter, who appears to have been impressed by Daniel’s flashing in new play Equus.

"Speaking on London’s LBC radio, she gushed: 'Daniel’s got such balls . . . I mean, he really does. Metaphorically in every way. I just so admire him.

" 'And also I thought, ‘Oh my god, I’ve never seen his eyes because of the famous Harry Potter glasses — you take them off and he has got exactly what they describe in the play, amazing eyes and amazing stare, he’s got a great intensity . . . good on him for doing it.' "

From the Daily Mail

And finally even though this is a very immature article, it is quite interesting to read the reaction of some wild fans in it’s all, there are going to be fans that will go to watch Dan in Equus for one thing only!!…this article has quotes from a few fans, none fans and ....well here are some quotes.... remember this is as immature as it can gets but it is also good to read from the other side of the spectrum!

We all know what's coming. Throats are cleared, programmes closed, bottoms adjusted and binoculars fought over. And, finally, at exactly 9.30pm and after weeks of feverish anticipation, Harry Potter (a.k.a. Daniel Radcliffe) takes off his clothes -every last pant and sock - and drops them in an untidy pile on the floor before us.

"Oh my goodness..." I squeak. "He's quite something."

"Isn't he just?" whispers the woman next to me out of the corner of her mouth. "And surprisingly hirsute, if I might say...crikey, just look at that six-pack. And chest. And tummy...Wow! Who'd have thought it?"

It's all enough to make Harry's female sidekick, Hermione Granger feel giddy. And it's surely a bit much for the hundreds of loyal Potter fans who have been stationed outside the theatre all week for a glimpse of their hero.

For days, they've been mobbing the stage door, clutching dogeared cards, red roses, "I love you Daniel" banners and Harry Potter merchandise for their hero to sign.

On premiere night, Sisters Donata and Alesandra Meduir, 17 and 20, from Rome, were among the stage-door groupies. They have taken a week off college to wait in the rain to see Radcliffe leaving the theatre each night.

"Saturday was the best, but last night he was lovely," trills Donata. "He signed autographs and winked at us. I've always loved him. Tonight we're hoping for a cuddle."

"I grew up with the Harry Potter books and I love the films," chips in Alesandra. "But I'm ready to see a bit more of him now, if you know what I mean."

Just as Harry Potter has grown up, so have his fans. Pottermania has been growing greater with each new book and film.

Some 6,000 fans crowded outside New York's Radio City Music Hall for the 2004 unveiling of The Prisoner Of Azkaban movie, the third of Harry's big screen appearances. The following year, fans hurled underwear, tried to climb into Radcliffe's limo and held up banners: "Mrs Radcliffe is here". Another girl even rocked up uninvited in Radliffe's hotel suite, draped only in a towel.

It goes without saying that Radcliffe can act, but he also has an amazing body. And when the big moment comes, there's no messing about with silhouettes or carefully-arranged furniture to spare any blushes.

Back outside at the stage door after nearly five hours' waiting and occasionally chanting "Daniel, Daniel, Daniel", Donata et al. are finally rewarded. Not, sadly, by a cuddle, but by a glimpse of Daniel sitting, cap on, head down, in the back of his chauffered car.

"We love you, Daniel," they shriek. "We love you!" And then the girls stick out their tongues and run them down the tinted window of his car, leaving a smear of saliva.

Whey-faced and exhausted, the object of their adoration stares down at his lap.
